Important Safety Guidelines

  • New York State Covid-19 Travel Advisory requires visitors from certain states or countries to quarantine for 14 days. If you are traveling to NYC from any of these states or countries, visitors are required to complete the online Travel Health Form.
  • Face coverings are required for all visitors and Members over the age of two. You will not be permitted on tour without a face covering. Additionally, face coverings must be worn for the duration of your visit. CDC guidelines advise that face coverings should:
    • Reach above the nose, below the chin, and completely cover the mouth and nose
    • Fit snugly against the sides of the face
  • We have limited capacity of 15 people per tour group.
  • We encourage Members to reserve a time to visit prior to arrival at the Basilica. If you cannot schedule your visit in advance, we advise that you call us to check availability.  We cannot ensure spots unless it is reserved.
  • Physical distancing is required; visitors should stay at least six feet (about two arms’ length) from others and from groups.
  • Follow the physical-distancing markers at visitor entry and exit points as well as in locations throughout the Church.
  • Help prevent the spread of germs by washing your hands often with soap and water for at least twenty seconds and by not touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Hand sanitizer is also available at entrances and at stations throughout the Tour.
  • All restrooms are currently closed until further notice.
  • The Basilica ventilation systems are working properly, including monitoring filtration and humidification.
  • Stay home if you are feeling sick. For more information about COVID-19, check the CDC website.
  • An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public space where people are present. We cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed to COVID-19 during your visit to The Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral. Those visiting The Met do so at their own risk of such exposure.
